Chao Yan is a Research Associate at Princeton University in Dr. Yiguang Ju’s Combustion Group, where he studies energy conversion, fuels, and battery. He has also held research positions at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he conducted a kinetic study of elementary reactions of free radicals of combustion and atmospheric importance over extended temperature and pressure ranges as well as researching a zinc-based flexible battery using nano-material and polymers.
Chao received an outstanding oral presentation by a young researcher award at the 2016 Symposium of Royal Society of Chemistry. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2018.
