I am the co-founder of Brilliant Friends, a venture fund that invests in women led tech enabled companies. I am dedicating this phase of my career to making the start up landscape more diverse as I strongly believe that diversity will be the foundation of positive change. My co-founder is close friend and fellow Princetonian, Lynda Clarizio ('82) and we were recently joined by Princetonian Andi Bernstein ('80). The earlier part of my career was primarily on the digital side of entertainment and media, and most recently I ran digital video for all of Conde Nast's publications including The New Yorker and Vogue. I have also had three start up exits and currently sit on a number of public and private boards. I started my media career at MTV and was lucky to work with New Jersey native Jon Stewart on his first television show while there.
What will students be able to take away from your class?
My class is called "Creating Value: Introduction to Entrepreneurship." To me that is the essence of entrepreneurship. Students spend time reflecting on the entrepreneurial mindset, essential for success, and are given some of the key tools necessary to create value. Much of the work is focused in groups that take these learnings and apply them to the biggest problems facing the world, as identified by the UN sustainable development goals.
What are your responsibilities at the Keller Center?
In addition to teaching I regularly mentor the eLab program and sit on the Investment Committee for Prospect Student Ventures.
What attracted you to the Keller Center?
Princeton changed my life as I was a first generation college student. The opportunity to give back in this hands on way was a gift. I believe that the Keller Center embodies the best of Princeton -- intellectual rigor with an emphasis on promoting the betterment of society.
