ABOUT
Envision Conference 2018 brought together 160 participants from across the country to discuss the ethical implications of emerging technologies. Our events covered many high-impact technical advancements including AI, synthetic biology, neural enhancement and space propulsion. We hosted 30 speakers from academia and industry, who gave 8 talks, 30 workshops and dinner discussions. Participants came up with team projects over the weekend and refined their ideas considering ethical/social implications and input from our speakers. They presented the projects at the end of the conference. Workshops addressed a wide range of technical fields, such as autonomous vehicles, quantum computing for pharmaceutical applications, CRISPR gene drives, molecular machines, misinformation in social media, plant-based meat and many more.
