We are thrilled to share that Carolyn Rouse, Ritter Professor of Anthropology and Keller Faculty member, has been named a 2025 Guggenheim Fellow. Selected from nearly 3,500 applicants, this prestigious honor recognizes her exceptional scholarship, creativity, and contributions to her field. Each Fellow is awarded a grant to pursue independent work of the highest caliber with complete creative freedom.

Rouse is an acclaimed anthropologist, filmmaker, author, and thought leader whose work bridges disciplines and challenges conventional boundaries.

Her research and creative practice illuminate structural inequalities through deeply human narratives, blending rigorous ethnography with visual storytelling.

At Keller, Rouse has been instrumental in shaping our design curriculum and advancing our mission to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. She has supported programming that expands the role of critical design across campus and has helped to cultivate campus-wide partnerships and synergy.

In addition, Rouse is a vital member of the Entrepreneurial Certificate Executive Committee, where she has played a key role in transitioning the program from a certificate to a full-fledged minor, broadening opportunities for students to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into their academic journeys.
